Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our specialized services team. This temporary position offers an excellent opportunity for LPNs with experience in acute care, medical/surgical, and obstetrics (L&D). The role requires an LPN who is passionate about providing high-quality care and can adapt to a dynamic healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in acute care, medical/surgical, and obstetric (L&D) units.
• Assist in labor and delivery, and provide post-partum care.
• Monitor and assess patients’ health conditions, implementing and evaluating individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using appropriate documentation systems.
• Take on charge nurse responsibilities as needed, based on operational needs.

Qualifications

• Experience: Acute care (medical/surgical) and obstetrics (L&D) experience within the last 2 years.
• Certification:
  • Current and active Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP).
  • Current and active Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
  • Current and active Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS).
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Connect Care training (Rural Nurse module).
  • Previous experience working in a rural acute care/OBS setting.
  • Previous experience with Alberta Health Services (AHS) within the last 2 years as an RN in a similar unit.
  • Charge nurse experience.
